Happy June! We had a very short week in more ways than one. Our field trip was a huge success on Tuesday. The State House was very quiet so it seemed we had the whole building to ourselves. Speaker Matiello led a mock session that focused on two “bills”. Students debated and voted on whether to eliminate February vacation and installing seatbelts in school buses. Both bills failed in the fourth grade! Students went on a guided tour and then had a quick pizza snack before heading back to school. I hope you enjoyed the photographs and DVD that was sent home on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Junior Achievement program was presented at Orchard Farms. Students learned about being an entrepreneur, supply chains, and other factors relating to the economy in our region. I was so proud of how well behaved my students were and the quality of questions they asked during both days!
